What is Annaprashan?
Annaprashan is a joyful Hindu ceremony marking the moment a baby is lovingly introduced to solid food - traditionally sweet rice or kheer for the very first time. A Vedic priest chants sacred mantras and performs purification rituals, while the baby is gently seated on an elder's lap. The first morsel is fed slowly and with great love, accompanied by prayers for the child's good health, sharp mind, and long life. It is a beautiful celebration that brings the entire family together, marking the beginning of the child's nourishment from the world around them.
